On Monday 4th June, as part of the Queens Diamond Jubilee celebrations the Chester Giants event took place in Chester City center and Hoylake Photographic Society were invited to record the day for the organisers. Six club members, Mike Waring, Mike Griffiths, Barry Quatermass, Barbara Singleton and Brian and Diana Magor attended and were given passes by the organisers allowing them access to areas of the parade not available to the general public.

In front of the Town Hall and Chester Cathedral bands entertained the public
before the parade got under way.
A feature of this all day event was the parade of 60 giants with marching bands, singers and entertainers. When the parade started it was a spectacle not to be missed.
Bathed in bright Summer sunshine the crowds came out to enjoy this unique event.

The images show what a successful day the Chester Giants event was with beautiful weather and a bumper crowd making the hard work of the teams well worth the effort.
