In November 2014, Hoylake Photographic Society members held a meeting to discuss the club, it's program of events and to discuss whether members wanted anything more from the club. At the meeting there was a strong demand for social events related to photography including a weekend away to help members to bond and to also further their photographic skills. Last Friday we asked members to express their interest in a weekend away in October this year and/or May 2016. There was strong support; reinforced by attendees at our Wednesday Night Group.
As a result, the club are planning a weekend away at the Blencathra Field Centre near Keswick in late October. Blencathra will offer photographers the opportunity to capture landscapes, wildlife and nature images as well as enjoy hill walking, with post processing and discussion of the images taken during the evening.
The trip is only open to club members but if you're interested in club photography and are looking to enhance your skills alongside like minded people then Hoylake Photographic Society is open to new members. We meet every Friday from September to May at Newton Village Hall, Grange Cross Lane, West Kirby with the doors opening at 7.30 pm for a 7.45 pm start and a 10 pm finish. You can attend as a visitor paying only £2 on the door for as many times as you wish before deciding whether to join the club.
