At Hoylake Photographic Society we hold our main meetings on a Friday evening but we also have a Wednesday Night Group which meets every other Wednesday. This is more informal and gives members the chance to discuss photography instead is listening to our guest speakers.
The Wednesday night group had a really good evening this week. Members
brought a selection of mono digital images and explained how, and sometimes why,
they took them. It meant we had a huge variety of
places shown as well as different techniques highlighted. We were able to provide constructive comments on how to make improvements
and it didn't matter whether this was for newcomers or advanced workers. It illustrated the need to adapt images for projection as they often do
not appear as they do on ones own monitor. It was such a good
evening that we didn't finish till after 10pm but no-one seemed to mind.
