Pictorial Competition Results

On Friday 12th February 2016, our guest judge Ian Stewart, ARPS, DPAGB judged our latest monthly competition which had a theme of "Pictorial". On the night Ian commented that many club members had struggled to understand the concept of what constituted a pictorial image and there were many excellent photographs entered into the competition which didn't fit the theme but which would have done extremely well in either landscape, nature, illustrative, or record competitions. It's for this reason that the club committee have probably decided that "Pictorial" would be dropped as a theme in future. Those photographs that did have a pictorial feel to them did very well in the competition.

As usual our monthly competition was split into "Print" and "Digital Projected Images" sections with the "Print" section split into "Novice / Intermediate" mono print and colour print, and "Advanced" mono print and colour print sub sections. In the "Digital Projected Images" section all members compete against each other regardless of their skills and experience.

In the "Novice / Intermediate" mono print sub section Lynette Ryan got the concept of "Pictorial" correct taking 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. Lynette also gained 1st and 3rd places in the colour print sub section with Barbara Singleton taking 2nd place. Well done Lynette.

In the "Advanced" mono print sub section Barry Quatermass came 1st and 3rd while Paul Anderson gained 2nd place. The top prize in the colour print sub section went to Margaret Sixsmith, Barry Quatermass did well again taking 2nd place with Paul Anderson coming 3rd. Well done everyone.
