A sign that the club season is drawing to a close is the Annual Print and Digital Projected Images Competitions. On Friday 22nd April our guest judge Bill Preston, ARPS, DPAGB, BPE4* will have the daunting task of taking a fresh look over the six monthly competitions that have taken place since September 2015 to come up with his favourite images to award on the night. He also has the task of awarding the best digital image of the season. I wish him well. A fresh judging of members images always throws up surprises and turns the monthly competition results on their head and gives members fresh hope of success.
The following morning, Saturday 23rd April, our guest Jon Baker, MFIAP, EFIAPp will be doing the same with the Annual Prints but with a difference. While the digital images are judged away from the club, the prints are judged live and previously unseen by Jon, and if you have prints in this competition it can be both exciting and shattering to see you best effort discarded on the fly or kept on display as the prints are whittled down to the winners of the six categories.
Both competitions take place at Newton Village Hall, Grange Cross Lane, West Kirby and the doors open on Friday at 7.30pm for a 7.45pm start and a 10pm finish. On Saturday, you need to turn up at 8.30 am and the judging can go on a far as lunchtime. Help is appreciated on the day.
