Hoylake International Exhibition Judging Weekend

Each year Hoylake Photographic Society hosts its own photographic competition the "Hoylake International Exhibition 2016" and this year the competition entry was bigger than ever. With an entry of 8,000 images from hundreds of photographers from around the World, the judging took place over the weekend of 7/8th May.

This year we invited judges from the USA, China and Spain as well as locally to choose the best photography and to give out their awards. Club members attended to give us their practical help and moral support.

The catering was provided by Alison and Barry Quatermass and full marks to Alison for the quality and the quantity of food provided over the weekend. It was absolutely superb.

Because of the large number of images to get through we had three judging panels each with their own screen, projector and laptop but the judging sessions still went on from 9am - 5pm on both days. It was a hard slog for everyone but it was well worth the effort.

Thank you everyone including the judges, interpreters and volunteers for your work over the weekend. And thank you Brian Magor for organising yet another successful Hoylake International Exhibition. The competition results will be announced officially in the coming weeks, but the following images provided by Anthony Clarke will give you a flavour of the weekend.
