Open / Altered Reality Competition Results

Friday 14th October 2016 saw the judging of our first monthly competition of our new season by our guest Chris Kay ARPS. The subject matter was "Open" with a sub competition for the best "Altered Reality" image. The monthly competition is split into prints and digital projected images with the prints in this competition being A4 unmounted small prints.

Following a rule change at our AGM last Spring members no longer compete as "Advanced" and "Novice / Intermediate" members in the print competition with all members competing on an equal basis in both the prints and digital projected images sections.


George Evans did very well coming 1st and 2nd in the "Open" competition with Paul Anderson gaining 3rd. Paul Anderson also took the 1st spot in "Altered Reality" subsection.

In the "Digital Projected Images" section the honours were shared in this Open competition with Margaret Sixsmith gaining 1st, Paul Higgins coming 2nd and Ron Cooper coming 3rd. The "Altered Reality" sub competition was won by George Evans.

The full list of award winners are listed below. Congratulations to those who were successful and commiserations to those who didn't catch the judges eye with their images. There's always the Annual Competition in April 2017 with a different judge.
Our next meeting is on Friday 21st October with "Enhancing & Creating Images in Photoshop by Darrell Oakden DPAGB, BPE3* This is a digital presentation and no matter your level of post processing skills you're bound to come away with new knowledge supplied by Darrell.

For club members Friday is also the hand in for our next monthly competition which is "Landscape"

You don't have to be a member to enjoy our photography as non members are welcome paying £2 on the night. We meet at Newton Village Hall, Grange Cross Lane, West Kirby with the doors opening at 7.30pm for a 7.45pm start and a 10pm finish.
