Nature Competition Results

Last Friday 10th February was the judging of the "Nature" competition by our guest judge Trevor Davenport ARPS. Trevor is a very experienced nature photographer and he was delighted with the quality of the entries from our members in both the print and digital competition. During the judging Trevor gave members valuable advice on how simply they could have turned good images into very good images by simply cropping and framing the shot better.

In this monthly competition, "Nature" was split into print and digital projected images sub sections with the print sub section comprising colour and mono images together in the judging. All members competed against each other regardless of their skill and experience and with several specialist nature photographers as club members it was a difficult subject for our less experienced members to do well in.

Skill and experience in nature photography came to the fore in both the print and digital projected images sub sections with John Sixsmith coming 1st and 2nd in the prints competition. Wife Margaret Sixsmith gained 1st place in the digital competition with John coming 2nd again. Well done both. However Lynette Ryan did very well gaining 3rd place in the print competition getting awards with her two other print entries. In the digital projected image competition, Ken Lewis (another nature specialist) gained 3rd spot and gained two VHC with his other entries. Well done Ken.
