AGM and Prize Giving

Friday 28th April was the evening of the Hoylake Photographic Society AGM and annual competition prize giving. The evening started off with the awarding of the trophies and awards to club members with the serious business of the AGM taking place after the tea break.

Unfortunately some of our members who had done well in the annual competition were away notably Paul Anderson and John and Margaret Sixsmith so they weren't able to receive their trophies but Diane Magor (two trophies), John Bowen (two trophies), Anthony Clarke, Peter Larkin and Carol Tipping were able to pick up their silverware. Well done.

Following the awarding of trophies, club President Barry Quatermass awarded certificates to the club members in attendance who have gained awards and following the tea break we got down to the serious business of the club AGM.

Diana Magor (Comp Sec), Brian Magor Sec), Barry Quatermass (President) and Marie Higgins (Treasurer)
During the AGM, Barry Quatermass gave his Presidential address on the past 12 months and thanked the members who work tirelessly towards the running of the club, Diana Magor gave members her report on the season's competition entries and statistics, Marie Higgins gave us a breakdown of the club finances and finally Brian Magor reported on the 6th Hoylake International Exhibition which he organises and runs on behalf of the club. During the proceedings outgoing President Barry Quatermass passed the baton to our new President Anthony Clarke who will be in office for the next two years. Thank you club officials and our members for your work and participation in making the club a success during the last year.

Next up for club members is the judging of the 6th Hoylake International Exhibition over the weekend of 6th - 7th May at Newton Village Hall. Brian Magor and the committee would appreciate some help with the running of the judging days if only for a few hours during the weekend. The standard of photography on view from across the World is worth the visit. Judging takes place all day during the weekend.
