Members Night

The new season is well under way and this Friday 21st September, Hoylake Photographic Society will be holding our first "Members Night"

During the first half of the evening Brian Magor will be talking about competitions. This will be followed by Ian Chantler and his Comicon photography. The evening is also the hand-in for our first monthly competition of the season which is "Open/Altered Reality" The entry form can be downloaded from the Hoylake Photographic Society website.

On Friday 14th September, the club viewed a digital presentation, skillfully and beautifully put together by Brian Magor of our Hoylake International Exhibition 2018 which attracted an entry of over 7,000 images from 448 photographers from 55 countries. The quality of photography on display from the Wirral Peninsula to China was extremely high and inspirational.

Hoylake Photographic Society invited Ian Aldcroft, President of the Lancashire and Cheshire Photographic Union (L&CPU) as our guest and to present the awards to HPS members and successful photographers from within the L&CPU.

Our club President Anthony Clarke opened the evening before Brian Magor introduced the presentation of photography. After viewing the accepted images we broke for tea and continued with a viewing of the award winners. Ian Aldcroft closed the evening by presenting the awards and closing the night.

The New 2018/19 Season

It's been a long hot Summer which seems to have lasted forever. Hoylake Photographic Society has been closed since May for our Summer recess giving everyone a chance to capture their own brand of great photography to showcase during our new season which starts up again on Friday 7th September with the "President's Night"

Our club President, Anthony Clarke has the honour of choosing the topic and the guest speaker. It's a mystery at the moment so expect a surprise this Friday evening.

This is followed up on Friday 14th September with a viewing of the accepted and awarded images from our own very successful Hoylake International Exhibition 2018. Ian Aldcroft, President of the L&CPU will be presenting the awards.

Both meetings take place at Newton Village Hall, Grange Cross Lane, West Kirby. The doors open at 7.30pm for a 7.45pm start and a 10pm finish. Non members or prospective new members are welcome to attend paying only £2 on the door with no pressure to join. We're a friendly club and you can take in our meetings at your leisure to see if we're a good fit for you.
